Conditions We Treat
Back Pain
Back pain is a very common condition and affects people of all ages. It can come from poor posture, muscle strain, an old injury, or daily stress. It may feel like a dull ache or a sharp pain that flares up when you move. Simple things like bending, lifting, sitting, or sleeping can get harder. Chiropractic care starts by finding what is causing it. Treatment may include spinal adjustments, spinal decompression when a disc is involved, exercises to strengthen the back and core, and advice on safer movement and posture. The aim is better movement and natural healing.
Neck Pain
Pain in the neck area may complicate simple tasks such as turning the head or sleeping comfortably. It results from staying at the computer screen or phone for hours, bad posture, disc-related conditions, or some kind of trauma, such as whiplash. Pain in the neck area may also be accompanied by stiffness, headaches, and numbness extending to the shoulders, arms, and even fingers. Back tension usually accompanies neck pain problems. The approach taken in chiropractic treatment of neck pain problems starts with finding the underlying cause.
Headaches and Migraines
The headaches and migraines have implications other than causing pain. They affect a person’s concentration, mood, and sleeping patterns. Headaches have symptoms like pounding, dizziness, vomiting, sensitivity to noise and light among others. The common causes of these headaches and migraines include misalignment of the neck, forward-head posture, stress, insomnia and straining of eyes. Resorting to painkillers can be helpful at the initial stages but it only manages the pain and not the underlying cause. In chiropractic treatment, we look at the factors that cause pain which usually emanate from tension in the neck and upper part of the back.
Sciatica
Sciatica happens when the sciatic nerve, the largest nerve in the body, gets pinched or irritated. This nerve runs from the lower back through the hips and down each leg. Symptoms include pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness along that path. Sitting or standing for long periods can make it worse. Common causes include a herniated disc, bone spurs, poor posture, or extra pressure on the spine. Chiropractic care works to take pressure off the nerve without medication or surgery. Treatment may include spinal adjustments, spinal decompression, soft tissue therapy, joint mobilization, and exercises that support the lower back.
Scoliosis
Scoliosis is an abnormal sideways curve of the spine. Instead of looking straight, the spine may form an S or C shape. Signs include uneven shoulders or hips, a head that sits too far forward, and a visible curve. Some people also feel pain in the back, neck, or hips. It can start in childhood or develop later from injury or other conditions. Chiropractic care takes a non-invasive approach that aims to reduce pain, support spinal function, and slow the curve from getting worse. Care may include gentle adjustments, strengthening exercises, stretching, and spinal decompression.
Herniated Disc
Herniated discs occur when there is a bulge in a disc that then pinches the nerves near it. Depending on its location, one may experience pain in their neck, upper back or lower back. Symptoms such as numbness, tingling, muscle weakness, and stiffness may be experienced. Herniation of the neck discs causes symptoms to be felt in the arms, while herniation of lower back discs causes pain in the legs. Aging, poor lifting practices, prolonged sitting and lack of activity are some of the factors that lead to the condition. Chiropractic treatment is non-surgical and involves hands-on methods.
Work Injuries
Work-related injuries stem from repetitive actions and constant stress on certain body parts. Actions like twisting when lifting objects, typing improperly, and sitting for long periods of time may cause such injuries. The most common consequences of such injuries are back pain, inflammation in the joints, and irritation of nerves. Lower back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and shoulder injuries are examples of such injuries. Chiropractic treatment focuses on identifying the cause of the injury rather than its symptoms. It involves procedures like spinal adjustment, soft tissue therapy, and exercise.
Whiplash / Auto Accident Injuries
Whiplash comes from a sudden back-and-forth motion of the neck, often in a rear-end car accident. It can overstretch the muscles, ligaments, and joints in the neck. Even a low-speed crash can cause damage that you may not feel right away. Symptoms include neck pain and stiffness, less movement, headaches, and pain in the shoulders or arms. Some people also feel dizzy or tired. Ignoring it can lead to long-term stiffness and faster joint wear. Chiropractic care is non-surgical and may include adjustments, physical therapy, massage, and stretching. Getting care early improves long-term results.
Sports Injuries
Athletes push their bodies hard, which can lead to joint problems, soft tissue injuries, and strain. Common issues include neck and back pain, shoulder problems, tennis elbow, and knee, hip, or ankle trouble. Many of these come from overuse, poor form, or not enough rest. Chiropractic care helps athletes recover and get back to activity safely. Treatment may include adjustments, soft tissue therapy, and exercises that build strength and stability. Regular care can also help prevent injuries by keeping the joints and muscles balanced. The goal is to support recovery while helping the body move well.
Shoulder Pain
The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the body, which also makes it easy to injure. Shoulder pain can build up slowly from overuse or poor movement, or start suddenly from a fall, accident, or sports strain. It can make reaching, lifting, and sleeping difficult. Sometimes the pain actually starts in the neck or upper back. Chiropractic care begins by checking the spine and the shoulder to find the source. Treatment may include adjustments to the neck, upper back, and shoulder, soft tissue work, and stretching and strengthening exercises. Posture advice helps prevent it from returning.
Knee Pain
Knee pain can make everyday movements hard. It may feel like an ache, a sharp pain, swelling, or stiffness, and you might hear clicking or grinding. Causes include arthritis, ligament tears, overuse, and injury. Sometimes pain in the knee is linked to problems in the hips or spine. Chiropractic care looks at the knee as part of the whole body, including the spine and hips. Treatment may include gentle knee adjustments, decompression to ease joint pressure, and exercises to strengthen the muscles around the knee. The aim is better movement and less strain, without medication or surgery.
Carpal Tunnel
Carpal tunnel syndrome happens when a nerve in the wrist gets compressed as it passes through a narrow space. It can cause burning, tingling, pain, or numbness in the thumb and fingers. Some people also feel weakness in the hand or trouble holding small items. It is often linked to repetitive hand and wrist movements, like typing or using vibrating tools. Sometimes the real cause is higher up, in the neck. Chiropractic care checks both the wrist and the spine. Treatment may include gentle wrist and spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, and stretching and strengthening exercises.
Osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis is a joint condition that is more than simple wear and tear. Over time, the cartilage that cushions the joints breaks down. This can lead to pain, stiffness, and less movement, often in the knees, hips, and spine. Pain usually gets worse with activity and can return after rest. Cold weather may make it feel worse too. Chiropractic care takes a natural, non-surgical approach. It focuses on reducing strain on the joints and improving how they move. Care may include adjustments, soft tissue therapy, and exercises that strengthen the muscles around the joint. Early care can help.
Arm & Leg Pain
Arm and leg pain can make walking, reaching, or resting uncomfortable. Sometimes it starts after a clear event, like a car accident or heavy lifting. Other times, it builds up slowly. Causes include misaligned spinal joints, tendon or joint inflammation, arthritis, and frozen shoulder. Often, the pain is referred, meaning it is felt in the limb but comes from a pinched nerve in the spine. A neck nerve can cause arm pain, and a lower back nerve can cause leg pain. Chiropractic care may include spinal adjustments, joint mobilization, soft tissue therapy, and stabilizing exercises.
Vertigo
Vertigo is a feeling that you or your surroundings are spinning or moving. It is different from feeling faint or lightheaded, and the two often have different causes. Common causes include migraines, inner ear problems, reduced blood flow to the brain, neck injuries from car accidents, and neck misalignment. Along with dizziness, you may notice blurry vision, ringing in the ears, balance trouble, nausea, or tiredness. Chiropractic care works to find the source through a detailed history and exam. Care focuses on improving how the nervous system works to help restore balance and reduce symptoms.
